Memorial Day Thoughts

I celebrate remembrance of men and women- so many unknown brave courageous souls who believed in giving their all for something that was bigger than themselves. For this, I am so very grateful because I know that I live in a country whose roots and main theme, yes reason for becoming a country has always been liberty and justice for all. Can we truly look to our neighbors who look and speak differently than us, with many unique ways of living, for a common thread of humanity? If only for the sake of knowing that every person from every tongue in the world we live in was created by a good Creator, who desires us all to live peacefully as his children one with another. To truly enjoy every breath we take and all the resources i.e..homes, family, love, health, nature, good food, …freedom that we all can take for granted. There have always been evil forces that threaten cultures, countries and peoples from all walks of life; but it is the ones who know the right thing to do and do not hesitate to do that right thing for the sake of the many who are true heroes. And for that, we celebrate them, grateful for those whose names are written in the annuls of evermore… who have forever made generations after them safer and freer by their unselfish sacrifice of life. For no greater gift is known than to lay down one’s life for another. Happy Memorial Day America!

Something to uplift

With all of the sadness and scary news in the world bombarding us through all kinds of media, I believe we could all use more good news. That is my quest with my Uplift blog to find positive news stories that will inspire us to believe that there is still much good in the world around us. And there are still caring people who try to help others and be a positive influence. I don’t think our minds were meant to hear negativity on such a large scale as we do presently. So, here is a link to an uplifting story…

A little more of me

I have decided to start my blog, FINALLY! I am the star of my blog and you, why you are the moons. Without your taking the time to read what I quip, blogging wouldn’t be the same. So, let me interject my thoughts for today. You awoke as did I, and we are still here. For that we must be grateful, right? When I think of the alternative, I shiver to think that any day could be my last. Am I accomplishing what I dream of? Am I part of the solution and fighting hard to be that, and not the opposite: part of the problem? We all do and say things we regret; we’re human. As long as we are correcting our paths along the way, making them more steeped in love, then we’re going in the right direction. Everyday unfolds before us new and full of possibilities; let us hold fast the day with determination, confidence, and thankfulness.
